Needham Roche Bros. Outreach EventOn March 23rd, 2019, Starts With A Smile hosted a tabling event at the Roche Bros. supermarket in Needham, MA. The team, led by James and CJ, braved the frigid temperatures and high winds to share the Starts With A Smile mission and oral health statistics with the Needham community. The outpouring of support was tremendous, and generous shoppers contributed over 100 toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss for Boston shelters. Thank you again to Roche Bros. and the Needham community for allowing us to host this event!

We would like to give a special thanks to the Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Center for their help in running a donation drive during the 2018 Christmas season as part of their yearly holiday party. Together, the staff at the BU Alzheimer's Disease Center donated about $300 worth of oral health care supplies that benefitted the women of Rosie's Place this holiday season. Thank you for all of your generosity!

This summer, the Starts With A Smile team was fortunate enough to spend time volunteering at Pine Street Inn.
We worked in the kitchen on two separate occasions, helping out with meal prep and getting an opportunity to serve food to Pine Street’s incredible community. Working first-hand with the very people who we strive to serve was an incredibly rewarding experience, and reaffirmed the necessity of our work. We are are ecstatic about the relationship that we have formed with Pine Street Inn, and we are excited to continue working with them in the future. |
Community Collaboration with St. Patrick's School Drive in Stoneham, MA
We would like to give a special thanks to the National Junior Honor Society at St. Patrick’s School in Stoneham, MA. In September 2017, the National Junior Honor Society, in conjunction with Starts With A Smile, took on an ambitious project of running their own oral health care donation drive as part of a semester long service project to help those less fortunate in their community. NJHS members went to various classrooms in the school to provide information on the importance of oral health and the necessity of donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, and mouthwash to those who are in need. Thanks to all of their hard work and dedication, a total of 520 toothbrushes, 320 floss containers, 19 bottles of mouthwash, and 357 tubes of toothpaste were donated to Rosie’s Place, earlier this year. |
Greater New York Dental Meeting We would like to thank those who we talked to the Greater New York Dental Meeting who supported our mission. Included, are the exhibitors on the expansive exhibit floor; they were an integral part of the Dental Meeting. We were able to interact with some of the over 600 exhibitors who were able to demonstrate and teach you about new products and technology from around the world, as well as, learn more about the companies we respect. Also included in the thanks are the volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scene to make this event a success. |
